KW VIPR SUBCOMP [.45] - WIP

I was looking for a fun gun model to practice a CAD Solidworks to game model workflow. Elliot Lilly gave me permission to model his concept drawing of a KW VIPR.  I was also on the Alpha and Beta testing group for Marmoset Toolbag 3 at the time. I was using this project to test out the new texture baker features. I only had time to get through the silencer re-topology and bake faze but the bakes turned out amazing. When I have more time I plan to finish the game model geometry and texture. This is currently still a work in progress.

SOFTWARE USED:

• High Res modeled in Solidworks 2016

• Low res modeled in Maya 2016

• Supporting textures were baked in Marmoset Toolbag 3 Alpha

• Textured in Substance Painter 2

• Rendered in Keyshot 5 & Marmoset Toolbag

  • SolidWorks
  • MAYA
  • MARMOSET TOOLBAG
  • SUBSTANCE PAINTER
  • Keyshot

HIGH POLYGON MODEL

BAKING AND TEXTURING PROCESS

I currently have only had the time to work on the low poly workflow with the silencer. I am in the process of finishing the rest of the gun and will have that posted soon.

CONCEPT FEEDBACK FROM ELIOTT

I had sent Eliott a few questions about the functionality of his model. He only had the side profile concept image to go from. I sent him some WIP shots and he did some draw over explaining some functions of the gun to me.
